🌟No show, no call policy: if you do not have the courtesy to call/text/email to cancel a appointment that you do not plan on attending you will be charged the full session amount. Just like you a therapists time is very valuable and when someone does not communicate we lose out on potential clients taking the spot, we are paying overhead, child care, and wasting products thinking you will be there. Last minute cancellations do happen and I understand emergencies occur, after your first last minute cancellation you will be charged 50% of the session every time after.
🌟Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time. After 15 minutes you are considered a no call no show and will be charged the full amount for the appointment. You are welcome to come ten minutes before your appointment time to update paperwork and client information but please do not come prior to that. Sometimes we only have 30 minutes for our lunch breaks and when clients come 15-30 minutes early it cuts into our breaks and disrupts the day.

How Will I Feel After The Massage Or Bodywork Session?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity, which can last for days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended you drink plenty of water afterward.
What Are The Benefits Of Massage And Bodywork?
Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork are also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety, and create an overall sense of well-being.
Are There Medical Conditions That Would Make Massage Or Bodywork Inadvisable?
Yes. That’s why it’s imperative that before you begin your session, the practitioner ask general health questions. It is very important that you inform the practitioner of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor’s care, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage or bodywork prior to any session. Many practitioners may require a recommendation or approval from your doctor.
Where Will My Massage or Bodywork Session Take Place?
Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.
Must I Be Completely Undressed?
Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to wear for your own comfort. You will be properly draped during the session.
Will The Practitioner Be Present When I Disrobe?
The practitioner will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table, and cover yourself with a clean sheet and blanket.
Will I Be Covered During The Session?
You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.
What Parts Of My Body Will Be Massaged?
You and the practitioner will discuss the desired outcome of your session. This will determine which parts of your body require massage. A typical full-body session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders. You will not be touched on or near your genitals (male or female) or breasts (female).
Will Lubricant Be Used?
A light oil or lotion may be used to permit
your muscles to be worked on without causing excessive friction to the skin. The lubricants used should hydrate the skin and be readily absorbed.
What Will the Massage Or Bodywork Feel Like?
It depends on the techniques used. In a general Swedish massage, your session may start with broad, flowing strokes that will help to calm your nervous system and ease exterior muscle tension. As your body unwinds, pressure will gradually be increased to relax and relieve specific areas
of muscular tension. You should communicate with your practitioner immediately if you feel any discomfort so that another approach may be taken. Massage and bodywork are most effective when your body is not resisting.
Are There Different Kinds Of Massage And Bodywork?
There are numerous types of massage and bodywork. Various techniques utilize different strokes, including basic rubbing strokes, rocking movement, posture and movement reeducation, application of pressure to specific points, and more. Ask the practitioner about the methods she uses.
How Long Will The Session Last?
The average full-body massage or bodywork session lasts approximately one hour. A half-
hour appointment only allows time for a partial massage session, for instance the neck and shoulders, back, or legs and feet. Many people prefer a sixty-to-ninety-minute session for optimal relaxation. Always allow relaxation time prior to and after the session. Hot tubs, steam baths, and saunas can assist in the relaxation process.
What Should I Do During The Massage Or Bodywork Session?
Make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax. Others like to talk during their session. Feel free to ask the practitioner questions about massage and bodywork in general or about the particular technique you are receiving.

How Will I Receive My Massage?
When receiving pregnancy massage, you are positioned on your side to give the therapist access to your back or in a semi-reclining position for massage on the front of your body. Your
body will be supported with pillows or special cushions. Some therapists may have pillows specifically designed for pregnant women, including a “breakaway tummy” to support the pelvic area while lying on your stomach. You will be properly draped while the therapist is working, except for the area being massaged.
What Techniques Will Be Used?
Many pregnancy massage specialists integrate a variety of techniques into their work. Depending on where you are in the pregnancy, the therapist may utilize reflexology, Swedish massage, or very light shiatsu.
Are There Times When Massage During Pregnancy Should Be Avoided?

However, women in high-risk pregnancies should consult with their doctor or midwife before beginning a massage therapy program. What is Cupping therapy?
By placing a glass or a plastic cup onto the skin, the therapist creates a vacuum in the cup which draws the skin, muscle, and fascia up into the cup. Cupping is used as a direct clinical application. The therapist applies the suction directly onto restricted areas to affect change. This is different to traditional Eastern methods which rely on affecting change in the line of meridians or “Qi” throughout the body. Used in conjunction with other massage treatments, Cupping is a useful tool to add into the treatment mix as it provides a different sensation and effectiveness, and thereby improving the overall results.Cupping is used in the treatment of many types of muscle tensions, including common ailments such as neck pain, shoulder pain, tight trapezius, lower back pain, spinal congestion, and plantar fasciitis.
What does Cupping therapy feel like?
Contrary to the commonly-held impression, the suction of the cups does not hurt. In fact, most people find the sensation very pleasant, a sort of a release. The cups can remain in position for several minutes, or the therapist can glide them over the skin similar to the movements of a massage. This negative pressure is the opposite to a deep tissue massage – a pulling versus a pushing effect.
Benefits of Cupping therapy:
- Relaxation: suction cups provide a negative pressure on the skin, muscles, and fascia. This is in contrast to the positive pressure of the deep tissue massage, and can be a very relaxing and soothing experience.
- Promotes blood circulation speeds up muscle recovery. The negative pressure from the suction allows new blood to flow into that area of tissue with several benefits -
1. Provides a feeling of relief from physical and emotional tensions
2. Begins the healing and regeneration process - the exchange of blood allows the removal of toxins and dead cells
3. Enhances circulation
4. Warms the skin, and softens tissues to regain elasticity
5. Reduces inflammation
Useful applications of cupping therapy in massage therapy:
1. Cupping increases the blood flow and warms the skin, which makes makes it easier for the therapist to get into the ‘knots' in your muscles.
2. Once the cup is removed, the skin relays information to the therapist about the underlying tissue. A darker patch on skin would indicate an area of restriction or adhesion in the muscles. It can then help the therapist to pinpoint exactly where to massage.
3. As Cupping is a less strenuous (but no less effective) form of therapy, it helps the therapist to prolong their ability to treat clients at a high level for a longer duration.
4. Cupping is used as part of a bespoke suite of massage treatments to improve your body’s condition, which could include deep tissue, stretch therapy, “Gua Sha” (explanation for another time!), and a combination of different techniques depending on what is needed.
